Allen & York are recruiting a Senior Solar Engineer for an international company specialise in providing world-class, innovative solutions in the fields of business & technical consultancy, testing, inspections & certification, risk management, and verification to join their Energy team in Dubai office

Local Unit & Position Description
The role will involve working within the Solar team to provide technical consulting services throughout the development, procurement and construction phases of solar farm projects, including procurement assistance, technical due diligence and acting as Lender's and Owner's Engineer during the construction phase. The work will involve overall management of complex commercial and technical projects, resourced from multiple internal business streams, alongside management of client interfaces. These projects are expected to be mostly in solar PV, but may also involve coordination of CSP or other renewable projects


Key accountabilities:

Develop the solar work in MENA by generating and developing new opportunities develop proposals leading to contracts.
Work with the renewable energy team to promote and deliver THE COMPANY's Engineering Services and work with solar experts worldwide to develop the MENA market.

  • Support provision of technical advice to clients including:
  • Specification assistance for all aspects of solar farm construction
  • Assist clients with procurement including contract negotiation and tendering
  • General project advice
  • Technical due diligence of pre-construction and operational projects
  • Other ad-hoc advice
  • Support due diligence activity to include: data analysis, documentation review and risk analysis.
  • Liaising with a wide range of clients from solar farm developers to financial institutions
  • Work on multiple projects, managing own time to meet deadlines.
  • Producing written reports and other documentation for delivery to the client
  • Supporting the continuous improvement and development of group procedures and documentation
  • Any other appropriate duties as directed by line management


Key Internal and External Contacts (and frequency / method of contact):

The individual may act in a supporting role for contact) with the Client (Lender and Owners) and Client's project team as well as construction contractors, stakeholders and other third parties.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in the International PV solar industry in a technical consulting capacity.
  • An appropriate degree/higher degree in an engineering subject.
  • Proven ability to produce clear written reports and communicate verbally in English.
  • Good IT skills, and experience using MS Office suite packages.
  • Demonstrable ability to deliver complex tasks to tight timelines.
  • Good organisation and time management skills.
  • Adaptability and able to cope with a wide variety of tasks.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Previous experience in performing due diligence activities.
