Technical Sales Manager
We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Technical Sales Manager to support our clients’ growth in the Bioresources and Industrial Treatment sectors.
As the Technical Sales Manager your role would be to offer a range of technical consultancy packages and to tailor these solutions to deliver the right outcome for each client. As a result our client are looking for someone with a technical / process engineering background and experience in sales within the bio-waste or waste water management industries. In general terms, the Technical Sales Manager will:
• Build client relationships and work with colleagues to secure new and recurrent business, with a particular focus on the Industrial and Bioresources sectors
• Work closely with the Business Development Manager (BDM) to prioritise opportunities
• Feed market intelligence back to the management and marketing teams
• Drive wider participation in the Business Development process with colleagues (through provision of training and mentoring)
Applicants for this role must hold a BSc in Environmental Engineering (or equivalent). You must have proven sales and consultancy experience within the anaerobic digestion and industrial effluent treatment sectors whilst experience or knowledge of specific bio resources (such as compost, sludge and digestate) would be desirable. Candidates with knowledge of the agricultural sector would also be highly desirable as would professional memberships of appropriate sales and/or marketing institutions.
Candidates must be able to balance a varied workload, and prioritise key activities. This will require you to have excellent planning and organisation skills, and applicants must be confident of their presentation and negotiation skills.
Due to the nature of the role applicants must hold a full valid driving licence and would be expected to travel throughout the UK to client sites as required. Candidates must be prepared to spend time away from home as this role cover the UK and potentially beyond.
