A chance to work for a leading private consultancy who prides itself on employee development, working on large scale, complex and exciting projects in a supportive and cooperative environment in Oxfordshire.
Our client is an innovative multi-disciplinary practice combining Architects, Town Planners and Urban Designers who pride themselves on being creative, sustainable, and client focused and have recently been awarded the Investors in People Gold accreditation. They are leading on the development of some nationally significant projects, including an entirely new settlement in the South of the UK. Due to the number of new promotions and schemes, they are currently looking to expand quite significantly to support their current work load. As such they require an experienced Town Planner to join their team.
The Role of Town Planner
The role of Town Planner within this organisation is pivotal to the success. You will be supporting the Associates and Partners in delivering consent across a variety of small to large scale (all the way up to 9000 units) mainly residential projects. Ultimately responsible and reporting into the Planning Partner, you will be given autonomy to promote projects with limited supervision.
This is also a very client facing role, giving you the chance to develop important client relationships. You will provide advice on the strategy and progress of projects, as well as complete representations on behalf of clients to emerging Development Plan Documents, taking into account specific client requirements. You will also hold regular meetings with clients to advise them on potential success of a development opportunity and the progress of a current project.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to be involved and have exposure to all stages of the planning process; from the initial research, assessing and evaluating policy, preparing initial feasibility studies, preparing the application submission, pre-application meetings, as well as gaining exposure to the appeals process including preparation of evidence and coordinating other professionals involved.

- RTPI Accredited degree
- Recently, or in the process of obtaining full chartership status
- 1-3 years' professional experience in the UK planning sector public and/or private sector experience will be considered
- Exceptional understanding of UK planning policy
