With diminishing natural resources and raw materials at a premium, the Resource industry is fast evolving to satisfy the global demand for recycled and reprocessed materials.  New technologies are creating new job opportunities and at ALLEN & YORK we are witnessing a growing demand for specialist waste and recycling recruitment.

The UK waste and recycling sector already employs over 100,000 people and generates over £12bn a year in sales. Between 2009-2012 annual sales growth from the sector averaged 2.2%, (according to DEFRA) with a forecast annual growth of around 3.5% until 2015/16

The professionalisation of waste (as highlighted in our previous article) continues to be a growing trend and the main growth areas are still within; Energy from Waste, Recycling and Manufacturing and Waste Management.

ALLEN & YORK’s Waste & Recycling team cover technical and non-technical positions, with job opportunities across; engineering, project and operational management, business development, sales and marketing; as well as health, safety, quality and environment.
