3M, the global innovation company who design and manufacture innovative products from medical treatments to saving energy, are taking a lead in health and safety with the launch of their ‘SafeTea Break’ campaign, combined with their Safety Network Live event on 20th October 2015
Celebrating the 1 year anniversary of the launch of their Safety Network, 3M invite health and safety professionals to attend the free of charge event, listen to expert speakers, share ideas with industry peers and engage with practical demonstrations.
In a recent article in the SHP, Kim Brewer, marketing manager for 3M Safety Network live and the SafeTea break campaign, said that; “It’s all about encouraging worker involvement and trying to dispel the myth that health and safety is just the remit of the health and safety manager. It’s really about engaging the workforce, and creating a sense of ownership around health and taking those topics very seriously.”
The 3M SafeTea Break is available to download and provides a toolkit for engaging with employees, providing open questions to present in a break out/tea-break session, with a view to generating debate across health topics.
Ultimately, the aim is to create a useful action plan for the health and safety manager, and a better understanding of the health risks and consequences of non-compliance for the employees.
