RenewableUK is highlighting official Government statistics published 22nd December that show a big leap in UK energy generated by wind.
DECC has released their quarterly figures which show that in July to September, the amount of electricity generated by offshore wind increased by 52% compared to the same period in 2014, and onshore wind generation was up 30%.
This is a great boost for a rather browbeaten UK renewable energy industry, which is standing strong in the face of the current government's lack of support for renewables.
Overall, 23.5% of the UK's electricity was geneated by renewables in Q3 this year, up 6% on the same period in 2014.
There is much reliance and innovation within the industry and with delivery stats like this the UK can't afford not to have renewables in the mix.
