Budget to commit funds to transport infrastructure schemes

Transport Highlights from the Budget include; 

HS3 between Leeds and Manchester
Building the Northern Powerhouse, by giving the go ahead to High Speed 3 between Leeds and Manchester, aiming to bring down journey times from 50 minutes to around 30 minutes, investing an extra £161 million to accelerate the transformation of the M62, and £75 million to improve other road links across the North including the A66 and A69

£80 million to give Crossrail 2 the go-ahead
This will be used to continue planning for Crossrail 2. The proposed Crossrail 2 route will connect South-West and North-East London, increase tube capacity and reduce the pressure on Victoria and Waterloo stations.

Fuel duty will be frozen again in 2016-17
Saving the typical motorist £75 a year. By the end of 2016-17 fuel duty will have been frozen for 6 years.
