Sir Peter Cook, world renowned architect, has designed his first ever UK building for his alma mater, Bournemouth University.
An art studio designed as part of a £17m university investment will be officially opened today (3rd March) by Dame Zaha Hadid.
The drawing studio is one of three new facilities at Arts University Bournemouth (AUB), which also includes an animation and photography studio and lecture theatre.
Mary O'Sullivan, from the university, described it as a "great asset".
Drawing is "central" to the university's teachings, Ms Sullivan added.
"From traditional art, to creative design work, one way or another it always goes back to the drawing board," she said.
Sir Peter, former director of London's Institute of Contemporary Arts, is most well-known for creating the Kunsthaus Graz exhibition centre in Graz, Austria.
