AD and EfW plants are expanding across the UK, increasing waste and recycling job opportunities across all areas of the industry from project and site management to sales and delivery implementation.
Suez are moving ahead with their proposed 71,000 tonne capacity RDF plant on the Altens East Industrial Estate in Aberdeen. Two materials recovery facilities (MRFs) are scheduled to begin operations in April 2017 and will be designed, engineered and manufactured by Bulk Handling Systems (BHS).
Also, as part of the Powering Aberdeen initiative (targeted to cut carbon emissions across the city by 31% by 2020), Aberdeen County Council will develop a 150,000 tonne-per-year capacity waste incinerator, to be developed on Tullos industrial site in the south of the city.
Viridor have also announced, that it is considering plans to increase the capacity of its Trident Park Energy Facility in Cardiff, which already has the capacity to handle 350,000 tonnes of waste per year.
Energy from Waste is a growing industry within the resource management jobs marketplace and our ALLEN & YORK Waste & Recycling team would be keen to speak to anyone with experience in this area.
