Recruitment Case Study for bio-bean® recycling waste coffee grounds into biofuels
bio-bean® is an award-winning clean technology company and the first company in the world to industrialise the process of recycling waste coffee grounds into advanced biofuels and biochemicals.
The company has grown fast, and in 2015 they built their pioneering waste coffee recycling factory at Alconbury Weald. The factory can process 50,000 tonnes a year, the waste from one-in-ten cups of coffee drunk in the UK!
ALLEN & YORK’s Waste Recruitment team specialise in sourcing high calibre talent across; waste management, sales, planning and engineering within; recycling, AD & Biogas, Energy from Waste (EfW) and other related waste sectors.
The team were excited to work with a truly ground-breaking company in the field of waste recycling and biofuels, and although the assignment proved challenging, they were delighted to be able to deliver a great candidate for the role.
Due to their expansion bio-bean® were looking to recruit a Sales and Logistics Manager, a new addition to their team. Coffee ground recycling is a niche area of expertise, within the EfW industry (which itself is a relatively new industry), so this is a typical ‘candidate short market’ and as such our experienced Waste team advised that a head-hunt approach would be the most effective for this recruitment assignment.
