Arboricultural Consultant - South East England

Holding a Membership for either the Arboricultural Association, Royal Forestry Society or Institute of Chartered Foresters, ideally you will also have an Arboricultural degree or equivalent qualification such as a Lantra Professional Tree Inspection certificate, NPTC Certificate of Competence in Utility Arboriculture Unit 5.1 and 5.2. You may even be a Licensed QTRA tree risk assessor and have knowledge of THREATS tree risk assessment method, potentially having a recognised forestry qualification, which would aid you in this role.
Drawing on your established knowledge of working with an arboricultural consultancy, you will be used to working in a fast moving, client focused commercial environment.
Having an in depth knowledge and experience of professional arboricultural work will aid you when undertaking tree surveys and providing advice to a range of developers in relation to the requirements of BS5837:2012
In this role as a Arboricultural Consultant, carrying out tree health surveys, hazard assessments, visual tree inspections and risk assessment surveys and reports for developers, utilities and other corporate organisations, while understanding and dealing with Tree Preservation Order issues, will all be part of your remit.
Managing and servicing on-site implementation of arboricultural works including the supervision of contractors, carrying out arboricultural surveys and impact assessments on development sites and writing reports and management plans - all in accordance with BS5837:2012 - will all be key parts to this role.
You will be undertaking arboricultural surveys for utilities and landowners using the principles of Visual Tree Assessment and will specify the necessary work on individual or groups of trees in accordance with BS3998:2010.
You are expected to produce tree risk management surveys and reports using THREATS, QTRA or other recognised systems, while managing small scale arboricultural contracts, ensuring that work is delivered on time, within budget and delivered to the client's satisfaction.
As an Arboricultural consultant you will hold a full driving licence and will be required to have a flexible attitude with regards to type of work, timing and location.
