Associate Director - Ecology and Biodiversity
£60k - £75k Bath / London
We're recruiting for an Associate Director to join our clients Ecology and Biodiversity Management team, to work across a diverse range of UK project work, particularly with regards to nature-based solutions for climate resilience. If this sounds like you, read on!
The role
You will join a small, committed team, ensuring best ecological practice is embedded across all UK projects and mentoring a small team of UK ecologists, this is an opportunity to collaborate across disciplines to provide holistic solutions to global climate issues and to expand our green blue infrastructure, environmental net gain, ecosystem services and natural capital strategic work across the UK.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates with experience of managing and leading a team of ecologists and a track-record of engaging with clients, collaborators, and colleagues to help secure projects. This will include:
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of the sectors in which ecology work is carried out in the UK. This will include knowledge of the planning system and the role and responsibilities of local authorities and county councils.
Awareness of developments within the ecology sector around climate change and environmental net gain.
Experience in coaching and mentoring junior staff to develop their own technical skills.
Degree educated or equivalent experience, and professionally registered with CIEEM or similar.
