Associate Director - Sheffield

Do you want to work in a Planning team for a multidisciplinary consulting group with over 25 years of history?

Do you want to lead and set policies and drive the business forward?

With at least 7 years planning experience within the public or private sector, and with membership of the RTPI you will be expected to work on development plans/policy and development management projects and appeal work. You will work on a large variety of public and private jobs, for national, regional and local house builders/developers, landowners and Local Authority clients.

Your detailed knowledge of the planning sector will provide you the ability to analyse and problem solve, advocate solutions verbally and in writing and convey ideas clearly to your team.

You will be tasked to take the lead on projects while managing your own workload as well as supporting the Directors of the business.

You will, of course, have the support of junior members of the professional planning team in completing projects as required

As Associate Director, you will be expected to report to Directors accordingly, whilst developing your own client base. You will also be required to manage the workload of junior staff members and assist them in a wide variety of projects in which they will become involved.

You may even have experience in Planning policy or development management, including some experience in preparing and presenting evidence to hearings, inquiries or examinations in public.

You should also have a strong development management background (either public or private) to support the ongoing workload of applications, appeals and site representations. The office currently works for a number of national, regional and local house builders/developers, as well as land owners. Business development, project management of large applications and a network of private connections is advantageous, but not essential.

In this role, you will be responsible for private sector business development and managing projects/clients. As an Associate Director, you will report accordingly to the office Director whilst developing your own client base/winning projects for which you'll have a large measure of responsibility; Undertake marketing and business development activities (existing network of contacts would be beneficial). Experience in preparing and presenting evidence to hearings, inquiries or examinations in public would also be an advantage.
