A leading design and construction consultancy are seeking to appoint an experienced construction project manager. The projects will solely be based around healthcare projects and you will take a lead on some of the projects whilst assisting the project director on larger more complex projects.
This role would suit a Project manager already at principal level within a consultancy environment who is client facing and assisting in developing business.
The responsibilities within this position will cover the whole project lifecycle from initial inception and business case development, through the design, procurement process, site delivery, commissioning phase and defects management.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide oversight / strategic guidance /audit & review, to a portfolio of projects being lead within the cost centre.
To provide effective support to SPM's, PMs and APMs
Ensure commissions are managed to the right quality standards and are completed efficiently and on time
Strong relationships are developed with clients and members of the cross-functional team
Business development opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross- selling opportunities, are identified and acted upon
Provide leadership within project management business and provide leadership and mentoring to the team
Management of tender documents, appraisals and negotiations
Experience of successfully delivering major and minor construction projects
Experience of working in or managing multi-site operations
Extensive Health, Education and/or Science experience.
Good Understanding of CDM regulations
Extensive design management experience inclusive of C-Sheet approvals
Extensive contractor management experience
Experience of working with stakeholders/clients to produce Strategic Development Briefs and Client/User requirements
Experience of working as part of complex, multi-disciplinary/multi-agency Project Teams
Qualifications
Professional Qualified - ideally Project Management/ Construction/Engineering/Quantity Surveying Degree
Chartered Status with the RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or other equivalent institution
APM affiliation preferred (as secondary accreditation)
Prince 2 or MSP experience is desirable but not essential
