Consultant Bat Ecologist - Glasgow

My client is looking for a consultant ecologist who is either bat licensed, or working towards a bat licensed status. This role would require survey work for bats as well as other species for phase one assessments.
This role will be based in Glasgow and requires the following skills:

* Under/postgraduate degree in ecology or a related discipline;

* Your degree will be supported by at least three years' of demonstrable experience in

Phase 1 Habitat Survey and protected species surveying;

* Membership of CIEEM, or equivalent professional body;

* Full driving licence essential;

* Bat licence holder or working towards a licence (with at least 3 years' experience of

surveying for bats);

* Great crested newt survey licence and/or other survey licences highly desirable;

* Experience of using bat analysis software (Bat Sound, Analook);

* Strong team-working skills;

* A planned and organised approach to work and meeting deadlines;

* Excellent verbal and written communication and proven ability to write clear and

concise reports;

* Ability to be flexible to the needs of the business, and changes to project plans;

* Understanding of relevant legislation and planning policy, EcIA and Habitat Regulations

Assessment (HRA);

* Being comfortable with working irregular hours and working at night;

* Experience of having used GIS software (advantageous).
