Cable Jointer - LV & HV

Location: Midlands

Our client is a fast growing ICP who undertake new electrical utility connections. They are looking to recruit Cable Jointers to carry out electrical works which range from the connection of new supplies, diversion and alterations to locating and repairing faults.


  • Connect LV / HV up to 33KV *
  • Deliver the job to time and guaranteed service levels
  • Carry out risk assessments and maintain safe working practices
  • Represent the Company in a professional manner
  • Ensure completion of projects to agreed specifications and timescales
  • Work safely at all times and ensure safety of others working around them
  • Report all accidents, incidents and near misses
  • Complete weekly timesheets and all necessary paperwork for submission every Monday
  • Ensure that all NERS work is undertaken in line with NERS operational procedures and method statements
  • Notify the line manager in advance of, and understand, any variations in the design
  • Accept delivery of plant and materials and check inspection, calibration and conformity certification
  • Responsible for the efficient use of materials and Company property
  • Ensure personnel under control fully understand and adhere to their job requirements
  • Take responsibility for the Company vehicle, including keeping it clean tidy and in good working order and reporting any damage to line manager immediately
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working order
  • Record accurately details of work undertaken

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years' DNO background or experience of working with IDNO / ICP
  • Proven 5 years' experience as a trained qualified jointer
  • CSCS / ECS / SHEA Electric or equivalent
  • Electrical knowledge
  • Physically fit
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Good communication skills - verbal and written
  • Health and safety awareness
  • Good team player
  • Ability to follow and complete instructions


  • Current authorisations on DNO networks
  • HV LOVINK jointing 11kV, PCIAS, PILCSWA
  • City & Guilds level 2 in electro mechanical engineering, specialising in supply & distribution
  • Level 2 ONC Electrical Engineering Qualifications (or equivalent)
  • Emergency First Aid
  • Towing license with B+E category
  • NRSWA Operative / Supervisor
