My client a well established Engineering Infrastructure Company are looking for a Principal Bridge Engineer at Associate status to work in there design team.
The role will involve providing a discipline lead on complex infrastructure projects, as well as full project management of multiple small to medium sized bridge schemes. It will require the successful delivery of feasibility studies, reports, cost estimates, contract document and designs through the management of technical issues, resource, programme and fees. The successful candidate will be a Charted Engineer able to demonstrate a high level of experience and knowledge in the inspection, assessment, design, construction and remediation of highway and railway structures to DMRB, Network Rail and Eurocodes standards. Experience of a variety of bridge and structural projects will be required, with particular expertise in reinforced earth and sheet-piled bridge abutments and fully integral or semi-integral bridge forms.
Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that the individual is comfortable working on complex and challenging infrastructure schemes within a fast-paced, professional environment and is able to manage stakeholder expectations to the benefit of the scheme. Experience of Design and Build procurement would be an advantage,
It is also important that the individual is driven by a genuine desire to identify the optimum design solutions to complex engineering problems and is able to take a pragmatic approach to the application of specialist advice to achieve specific project outcomes. As such, the successful candidate will be both technically and commercially astute with a good understanding of cost, programme, contractual and buildability issues.
The T&I infrastructure design Service provides design services on a broad range of infrastructure projects ranging from large scale highway works to major rail freight interchanges and strategic residential developments. These schemes are undertaken for a variety of clients from developers to national contractors and the public sector.
Over recent years, the team has made good progress in achieving there strategic objective of designing and delivering increasingly large and complex infrastructure schemes. This exciting and stimulating role will make a major contribution to the further development and evolution of this key corporate objective though the continued development of a specific bridge engineering capability.

The preparation of clear and concise technical reports and presentations is vital, as well as the ability to communicate complex engineering issues to a non-technical audience.
