On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Chiller Engineer to join the team in Sunbury on Thames, with travel across the South East. The successful candidate will be able to apply a risk focused maintenance approach and operations of plant and systems in data centres/critical environments AC systems.

Role Summary:

  • Able to manage cost related to delivery of maintenance activities (specialist and self-perform)
  • Technical awareness of computer room/call centre/trader operations and experience of
  • Cooling and data centre set ups Building hvac systems chilled water systems etc.
  • Ensuring all client services, computer rooms, data networks, manufacturing and revenue earning services meet client requirements or appropriate SLAs
  • Operate to an Asset management plan (one year - 10 year)
  • Operate dilapidation and update plans relating to critical environments
  • Operate change control process covering business critical areas
  • Meet clients SLAs to ensure compliance and performance, covering business continuity
  • Provide technical management reports as required
  • Provide emergency response standby, call outs to critical failures to site in hours
  • Monitor utilities management and environmental programmes
  • Support cost-effective procurement of engineering maintenance services.
  • Operate within annual engineering budgets for the maintenance and repair of the services.
  • Operate to forward maintenance plan that track asset condition and projected maintenance costs on a 5 year rolling basis
  • Responsibility for ensuring all critical related engineering maintenance documentation/records are kept in clearly identified and retrievable systems.
  • Advise the Facilities Management Team of changes in critical environment requirements
  • Liaise with the Technical Manager to support contractor management networking with other accounts to provide a Best Practice and assist with the Global Continuous Improvements Programme
  • Plan Statutory Compliance Maintenance and Testing and report as required the Statutory Compliance Audit Report to the Technical Services Manager Fgas register
  • To ensure all PPM's and Critical Facility PPM's are carried out to schedule.
  • Monitor and analyse environmental conditions, review the loading and working conditions of critical equipment regularly
  • Ensure that financial processes are adhered to at all times
  • Escalate urgent issues identified through to the Technical Services Manager
  • Solutions and support business partners throughout all stages of the projects and ensure that the procedure for granting access for maintenance and other work, including the securing of all necessary stakeholder approvals, is complied with at all times
  • Assist and enhance service delivery through best practice and the effective use of site systems and equipment


Experience Required:

  • Qualification in Chiller and refrigeration engineering
  • Understand the monitoring of utilities and environmental programmes
  • Recognised Apprenticeship essential
  • IOSH or equivalent H&S training
  • Strong People Management
  • Excellent facilitation, communication skills at all levels
  • Electrical awareness
  • HVAC and BMS Experience
  • Operational experience of managing Environmental, Health & Safety and Quality Systems
  • PC skills
  • Fault finding on both Low voltage and ELV systems, lock out procedure.
  • Experience on invertors/ actuators and valves.
  • Fault finding on pumps both electrical and mechanical.
  • Qualifications on pipework and brazing safe handling of refrigerants
  • Fgas
