Job description

Sustainable Finance Analyst, Climate Risk

Dubai, UAE

Are you dedicated to addressing the imminent climate risks and their profound impact on equity and debt markets in the GCC region? We are actively seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Analyst in Climate Risk with a strong background in the banking sector to become an integral part of our client's rapidly growing and diverse team based in Dubai. As a leading advocate for sustainable finance, our clients mission is to champion transformative change within the financial sector, fostering a more resilient future for the region and the planet.

In this climate risk-focused role, you will take a deep dive into the intricate interplay between climate change and the equity and debt markets as well as additional corporate and investment markets. Your mission is to empower clients with the knowledge and insights they need to navigate the increasingly complex landscape of climate-related financial risks and opportunities.

With your extensive experience in banking and finance, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our clients' understanding of how climate risks affect equity and debt investments. You will guide them in making informed decisions that align with their sustainability commitments and safeguard their financial interests.

Your role will involve actively shaping and executing sustainable investment strategies firmly grounded in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles, with a specific emphasis on the equity, debt, and investment markets.. Your insights will be instrumental in shaping investment decisions that not only generate lasting value for our stakeholders but also ensure resilience in the face of climate-related financial challenges.

To excel in this pivotal role, you should hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, banking, economics, or accountancy. A background in banking is crucial, and possessing a CFA charter would be highly advantageous. We value candidates with approximately 5-8 years of professional experience in banking, research, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and the development of reports and other data-driven materials. Your experience should encompass work within financial institutions such as banks, private equity firms, sovereign wealth funds, or corporate development divisions of medium to large companies, all with a specific focus on the GCC region.

This is a considerable opportunity for you to lead the charge in sustainable finance with a climate risk bias, actively mitigating climate risks in the equity and debt markets while driving transformative change. Within a collaborative environment that fosters innovation, your insights will shape the foundation of our sustainable finance strategies with a laser focus on equity and debt.

In this role, you will be tasked with spearheading research, analysis, and reporting, all with a strong emphasis on equity and debt instruments. Proficiency in forecasting, market analysis, benchmarking, and presenting data through summary tables, graphs, and PowerPoint presentations is essential. Additionally, you should possess a deep comprehension of vital financial concepts and their intersection with international climate and sustainable development finance, especially within the context of equity and debt investments.

Your responsibilities will extend to conducting comprehensive analyses of climate-related risks and opportunities for our clients' equity and debt portfolios. You will vigilantly monitor and assess environmental trends, regulatory shifts, and industry advancements that could impact these portfolios.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential as you identify potential impacts on clients' equity and debt investment strategies. You will devise risk assessment models and tools to quantify and mitigate climate risks in these financial instruments, crafting reports and presentations on your climate risk analysis findings for internal and external stakeholders. As a Senior Analyst in Climate Risk with an equity and debt focus, you will offer strategic recommendations to fortify our clients' financial resilience and sustainability initiatives within these markets. You are expected to stay abreast of global climate risk frameworks, methodologies, and best practices, particularly as they relate to equity and debt investments.

If you are a driven and results-oriented banking professional with a passion for addressing climate risks within equity and debt markets, we encourage you to apply. In return, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a passionate team, contribute to transformative projects, and help shape the future of sustainable finance in the GCC region, with a sharp focus on equity and debt.
