Our well-known operator within the renewable energy market is looking for a Commercial Manager.
This role is a varied and challenging role that covers financial modelling, negotiations with banks and investors, business development and supporting the company on commercial and financial matters.
Responsibilities
- Leading and managing (including originating, evaluating and negotiating) project sales, project finance and PPA activities
- Originating new business opportunities and providing business development support to the UK &Ireland business
- Identifying and delivering M&A opportunities
- Providing financial & commercial support and analysis to enable decision making (specifically around investment decisions) and business planning and strategy
- Reviewing and creating financial models including challenging assumptions used in conjunction with the wider business
- Management, challenge and review of project and investment valuations
- Supporting and structuring investments in new business activities including new technologies and products
- Developing and maintaining relationships with banks and investors
- Negotiation of other key contracts
- Support lobbying by helping understand the financial and commercial impact of policy decisions
Requirements
- Understand the renewables market in the UK
- An appreciation of the different renewable technologies
- A wide network of contacts in the renewables industry
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Advanced Excel skills for financial modelling & forecasting i.e. financial modelling
- Team player with the intellectual rigor, attention to detail
- The ability to communicate and justify their findings to a non-financial audience
- Proven ability to originate, negotiate and deliver: finance facilities,
- Qualified in an Accounting or Financial, project/company sales, PPAs, third party operations contracts, third party construction contracts and other M&A opportunities
- Experience of using analytical techniques
- Experience in project management &forecasting and managing a complex and competing workload
- (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CFA) is desirable but not mandatory
