Our client is leading global engineering and technology Services Company and we are recruiting for a Control Engineer to join our Client's Grid division based in Newcastle supporting their Transmission & Distribution Sector.
Responsibilities
- Technical Lead on the projects; o Ensure compliance with customer technical specifications on allocated projects
- Production/Checking of functional design specification and design intent documents
- Development and configuration of engineering control solutions
- Production/Checking of all test documentation
- Carry out preFAT and FAT activities
- Provide SAT support including RAMS
- Responsible for technical issues/support on allocated projects
- Provide technical input for tendering activities
- Mentoring of apprentices / graduates within the Business.
- Adhere to all business compliance requirements in line with Company policies, including Business Conduct Guidelines & Confidential Information.
- Promote Siemens Zero harm Safety Initiative and culture.
- Recognise and Reward achievements and good practice.
- Design Approval
- Technical governance and authority for designs, including engineering documents, drawings, configurations, testing and equipment
- Technical governance and authority for RAMS
Requirements
- A minimum qualification of HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering plus experience in the Electricity Supply Industry with experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Working towards Chartered Electrical Engineering status desirable.
- Experience in a similar role involving configuration and testing of medium to large scale SCADA systems, control systems, automation systems and communication infrastructure.

- SICAM PAS
- SICAM PASCC/WinCC
- SICAM 230/250
- SICAM 1703
- ToolboxII, CAEx Plus
- Experience of Serial and Ethernet based communication protocols and topologies (IEC60870-5-101/103/104, IEC61850, Modbus, DNP3.0)
- Configuration and testing of networks utilising software tools for analyses and fault finding
- Knowledge of power systems with a working knowledge of protection systems
- Demonstrate excellent Leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience of Automation & Control Engineering standards applicable to the UK Consumer, Industrial and Transmission and Distribution markets.
