Crop Research Consultant - Multi locations across the UK.

In this role you will be working for a business that has a unique combination of insight and practical experience, underpinned by robust, informed, science-based information that allows them to meet the needs of both their domestic and international clients.
Ideally you will be qualified to at least degree level, in a biological or crop production related discipline, utilising this experience you will be able to demonstrate your knowledge of arable and forage crop production and have a good understanding of the challenges facing the food production industry while, demonstrating a strong ability for analysing and organising large, complex datasets. It would benefit you if you have a previous background or understanding of R coding.
As Crop Research Consultant you will join a multi-disciplinary team of research scientists and consultants located across the UK. You will work within the Crop Physiology group but will be expected to bridge across to the crop protection, soil, horticulture, GIS and modelling groups within the business. The aim of the Crop Physiology group is to improve the yield and quality of food, forage and biofuel crops, whilst reducing pollution associated with cropping, through an understanding of crop physiology, plant breeding and agronomy.
In this role you will work on projects that include increasing crop yield, improving nutrient use efficiency and development of precision farming technologies. You will have the opportunity to work with levy boards, governments, universities and the private sector to identify, evaluate and implement practical solutions to support sustainable crop production.
As the successful candidate you will have the ability to write reports, scientific papers and bids that are clear, logical and persuasive to meet the needs of clients and achieve the communication objectives for the organisation.
