Job description
Allen & York are delighted to be partnering exclusively with NaughtOne - a UK based international furniture designer and manufacturer who are one of sixteen businesses sitting under the Miller Knoll umbrella.
Established in 2005, they design and manufacture a range furniture for use in commercial spaces such as offices and retail environments supplied globally. They have grown significantly in recent years with a showroom in London and Chicago with a manufacturing facility in Elland where they manufacture their range of furniture which is 100% unique to NaughtOne.
Driven by their own high standards and a strong focus on environmental and social sustainability, they are now looking to recruit an EHS Manager for their UK business to be based just outside Leeds and work on a number of UK and global accounts, including Amazon and Google.
From a technical perspective, it's expected you will have manufacturing or industrial EHS experience and have taken a company through ISO45001 certification previously as this is something you'll be expected to do within NaughtOne within the first 12 months. Experience of working in a global business is also important due to the nature of this organisation.
You'll have at least five years' experience working in an EHS role, be confident answering EHS queries on a daily basis, implementing a local EHS plan and developing Risk Assessments and Safe Working procedures. In addition, you'll undertake workplace inspections, Safe Working Procedure audits and thoroughly investigate any accidents or incidents using the 5 Whys and 8 step technique to solve issues. Another important element of your role will be to lead on change management projects to ensure risk reduction is included in all project development plans and drive best practice at the different locations.
You will have strong communication skills and be able to liaise with people at various levels within the business. The ability to prioritise and manage your workload effectively is important and on occasion you'll be required to work at speed. You'll also be delivering training and coaching so experience of having done this before is essential, for both environmental and H&S topics.
In addition to the ISO45001, you'll also be responsible for maintaining the Environmental Management System in accordance with ISO14001, conducting audits and ensuring all environmental data such as waste, water, energy usage and emissions are adhered to and is in line with legislation.
You'll hold a valid NEBOSH qualification and be a competent user of MS360 and software management systems. In addition, your prior experience of working with LEAN tools and 5s would be highly advantageous.
You'll also support the Global Safety Lead for the parent business as and when required and this is also who you'll report to.
Based in the north of England on the outskirts of Harrogate, with easy access from the A1, you will work closely with the team in the offices and also the factory close by in Elland plus the showroom in London, therefore you'll need a valid UK drivers' licence and will divide your time between the four sites, with some possible overnight stays required.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with relevant manufacturing experience who's looking to join an aspirational and exciting business with a family feel whilst having the support of a much larger global brand so to find out more please contact Stuart on 01202 888986 ext 281.
