My client is seeking an emissions monitoring scientist to join The Emissions and Atmospheric Metrology Group which provides a range of consultancy services and measurement science solutions to government and commercial clients.

This exciting, innovative organisation sits at the intersection between scientific discovery and real world application. One of the top three National Measurement Institutes (NMIs) in the world, they now have a regional presence and strategic relationships with Surrey and Strathclyde Universities. Their expertise and original research have benefited UK citizens and the UK economy for over a century.

The Emissions and Atmospheric Metrology Group delivers a wide range of accredited services including emissions and ambient monitoring to a number of industries, oil and chemical, power generation, landfill and Energy from Waste. The services include the routine measurement of a wide scope of species, developing new bespoke methods for monitoring greenhouse gases and other emerging gaseous pollutants with industry partners and leading future emission monitoring projects with relevant NMI's to underpin the emissions monitoring industry.

They are seeking an experienced and self-motivated emissions monitoring scientist to join the busy team. The applicant should have ideally experience of client liaison, data analysis and report writing and practical experience with techniques consistent with the main stack emissions monitoring procedures. The scientist will be working mainly delivering emissions monitoring contracts including involvement of the calibration of continuous emissions monitors but will also be expected to work on other environmental monitoring contracts which may include atmospheric monitoring using remote sensor techniques.

Ideally the candidate should have a degree (not essential) in Chemistry, Physics, or another relevant discipline and personal MCERTS qualifications of either a Level 1, Level 2 with any technical endorsements but preferably with all four (TE1, TE2, TE3 and TE4).

The applicant should have a valid EU full driving licence and passport and should expect to spend a considerable proportion of the time off-site carrying out fieldwork throughout the UK and occasionally overseas.

Based in a unique, purpose-built research environment, they are located in beautiful surroundings in south-west London with a host of onsite facilities. These include a subsidised crèche, restaurant, free parking and their own sports and social club.

This is a really exciting role for the right candidate and there are great benefits on offer. Please do apply as soon as you can as interviews will be held very soon for this role.
