Engineer/Data Analyst - Water (6 Month Contract)


This role will initially be located from the client's office in Birmingham for a 6-month period, the successful candidate will then be required to be based out of head office in Salford covering projects in multiple locations.

Applicants should be comfortable working independently, be self-motivated and flexible in terms of travelling and working away. The candidate will report directly to the Project Manager.

Duties and responsibilities

*Work collaboratively within the client's project team to assist in the delivery of their programme.

*Assist with the analysis of company wide Network performance data.

*Assessment of the highest risk assets across the company to identify where investment is likely to deliver the highest return.

*Contribute to the team's culture for innovation and development of the Network Analysis platform, providing feedback and recommendations for optimizing the methodology.

Qualifications Essential

*Degree qualified (or equivalent) in an engineering or geography related discipline.

*Experience working in an analytical / technical role.

*A practical and demonstrable knowledge of GIS systems, it would be advantageous for the candidate to be proficient in the use of MapInfo.

*Strong Analytical skills, including data management and assessment of large data sets across several platforms.

*A proven track record of problem solving and desire for improvement, candidate will be working on an innovation driven project and input on process/methodology will not only be welcome but also expected.


Practical experience in the water industry utilising modelling software to build and/or analysis hydraulic models, for the deriving of benefit and network improvement.

*Detailed knowledge of network optimisation options and experience of delivering network improvement schemes.
