Job description
Allen and York are delighted to be working with one of the UK's leading airports as they look to recruit an Environmental Executive into their growing team of sustainability specialists.
The sustainability team is divided into three main strands and this role reports into the Climate Resilience Manager, where you'll be responsible for maintaining the Environmental Management System in compliance with ISO 14001 and the Energy Management System in accordance with ISO 50001. In addition, you will bring your experience of working on net zero carbon and implementing strategies. Ideally, you'll have experience of carbon, climate change and air quality, combined with strong communication skills as you will be working closely with their partners.
In addition to this, you will continue to develop and maintain the sustainability reporting programme, liaising with various departments within the organisation to make sure data is provided on time. You'll also work with the Climate Resilience Manager to deliver the Net Zero Roadmap, support her with researching and engaging in innovative initiatives around sustainable aviation, namely sustainable aviation fuels and hydrogen so an interest in the aviation sector would be beneficial.
Despite recruiting for another executive who will focus on the data performance, you'll still have strong and proven sustainability data analysis skills and experience, a background in environmental compliance if you've been exposed to carbon footprinting and emissions data, this will put you in a favourable position but it's not essential. What is required is a 'can-do' attitude, be able to use your initiative, a positive and enthusiastic demeanour and a willingness to learn and develop.
You'll be able to learn a huge amount from your manager and also bounce ideas off your colleagues within this close-knit, friendly team of professionals so it's a really lovely place to work.
Working on this unique site, it will benefit candidates who aren't looking to be solely office based but instead collaborating with various different teams across the site, utilising your strong analytical skills and project management skills, so your ability to be accurate and have a strong attention to detail and work autonomously as well as as part of a team is important.
Based in the South East, you'll need to be able to access the office one to two times a week at this stage and whilst you can get there by public transport, private transport is preferable. So, if you'd like to find out more about this exciting opportunity, please call Katie on 01202888986 Ext 207.
