Allen & York are proud to be working exclusively with Britishvolt, Britain's foremost investor in battery technologies and have been appointed to provide a full recruitment support service as they seek an important addition to their Sustainability and ESG function in the form of an ESG Manager. This is a hybrid working role.
Britishvolt is dedicated to supporting the future of electrified transportation and sustainable energy storage, producing world-leading lithium-ion battery technologies.
As an ESG Manager with Britishvolt you will be ideally placed to help them with their aim to establish the UK as the leading force in battery technology. You will be working with partners and suppliers to achieve this aim as it is of paramount importance to the future of the UK automotive industry and the overall economic and industrial health of the UK.
Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) is a fundamental element to the achievement of Britishvolt's strategic objectives. Britishvolt's ESG strategy identifies a number of key topics pertinent to the success of the business with ESG fully embedded within the corporate culture.
In this role you will report to the Global Head of ESG and will be required to support the delivery of these frameworks and develop processes for ESG activities and deliver a sustainable ESG data gathering and analysis programme designed to support external and internal ESG visibility.
As the ESG Manager you will be responsible for establishing the ESG Direction across the Britishvolt business, defining policies, strategies and deployment methods to support the business in becoming and remaining ESG leader in the UK. You will achieve this by utilising your wide-ranging knowledge of ESG issues, (ideally in industry) with experience in CSR, Sustainability and ESG topics to Influence effective cross-functional engagement, building strong networks while leading and guiding core ESG initiatives across the business.
You will establish and ensure operation of ESG governance structures and frameworks, while working closely with other members of the Governance function within the business to establish ESG KPIs information gathering, embed them within the business, and report on business performance both internally and externally. Collate BV CO2 data and support any potential future CO2 offset programme along with developing Life Cycle Assessment process of the battery product.
A key part of this role will be to develop and evolve Britishvolt's plan to achieve Net Zero.
As the successful candidate you will have several years' experience in an ESG/environmental / sustainability role and be familiar with working with sustainability related data and information from different sources across businesses.
Managing programmes of work to ensure delivery on time to quality expectations will be second nature to you. Ideally you will also have experience in one or more of the key areas of ESG investment activities, supply chain management, life cycle assessment of products and standards such as ISO 14040, ISO 14067 and PAS 2050, data systems development, social monitoring systems or development of governance structures.
This is a hybrid working role with travel to the Midlands and North East.
