Global Head of ESG (Director/Managing Director)
This is an exciting opportunity to join and develop a growing sustainable investing team within a leading, global investment organisation. Our client's operations include commercial and residential real estate, commercial businesses across diverse sectors such as agriculture, chemicals and speciality manufacturing as well as a range of other financial assets.
As they move forward they seek to develop a far reaching Sustainable Investing team that will be responsible for leading the development and monitoring of a robust sustainable investing offering and ESG reporting framework for existing owned assets.
We seek an experienced professional to lead the integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management & reporting into their investment platform, including ESG assessment and attribution, modelling of climate and other ESG impacts, target setting with partners and board members as well as portfolio implementation methodologies and investment frameworks across the different assets they hold.
In this role you will, produce and integrate ESG analyses into the investment vehicles carrying out due diligence on third-party companies and private investment vehicles. This newly-created role will enhance and expand their existing efforts, to include a more robust process for evaluating ESG metrics across their investment platforms. You will be responsible for evaluating the ESG status at various operating companies in our clients portfolio.
As Global Head of ESG / Director of ESG you will be expected to asses, analyse and provide informative information regarding how ESG factors materially impact both the businesses developed and developing asset allocation and investment portfolio mainly within Europe and the United States, with a view of growing this role further to advise and lead on a global basis. A Key part of this role will include staying informed as well as maintaining relationships with various ESG trendsetters, these will include regulators, political forums, ESG rating agencies and institutional investors to insure you provide the best advice to the business on relevant and future trends within ESG.
You will have a passion for creative and critical thinking on ESG issues and welcome the requirements of the role to stay informed on best practice and the regulatory frameworks. Your role will involve internal and external relationship management with industry groups and forums as well as management at company and group level. You will relish the opportunity to be part of a fast-growing team with a willingness to get hands on with reporting and the provision of detailed presentations as and when required.
Candidates are expected to have been working in a ESG focused role for the last 3-5 years. Ideally you will have had experience of working closely across a variety of industry sectors, working on the evaluation and execution of ESG data & integration of best practice within the business portfolio. You will utilise this experience to develop an ESG investment framework and analytical tools to assess and monitor ESG risks and opportunities ensuring relevant ESG metrics are embedded into processes going forward.
Any knowledge and experience gained within ESG from different sectors / industries will be advantageous.
