Graduate or Experienced Engineering Geologist/Geotechnical Engineer
ALLEN & YORK are supporting a multidiscipline team that are looking to expand their ground investigation and engineering team in their office in Aberdeen. This is a rare chance to gain entry into the market of Engineering Geology and Geotechnical Engineering at Graduate level. We would also warmly welcome applications from candidates with demonstrable experience in this market. You will have the opportunity to develop and grow your experience on projects including rail and highways, industrial and residential developments.
Design and implementation of Preliminary Risk Assessments and Intrusive Ground investigations including knowledge of soil and rock logging standards, intrusive ground investigation techniques, specification of appropriate soil and groundwater sampling methods and scheduling of both geotechnical and environmental laboratory testing;
Basic understanding of contaminated land legislation and planning regime to provide consideration of geo-environmental ground investigation scoping and generic risk assessment within wider combined site assessments, with the support of geo-environmental specialist staff;
Interpretative report writing including awareness and understanding of the following geotechnical issues:
- Slope stability;
- Soil & Rock engineering;
- Ground improvement;
Graduate level applicants will be supported in the development of the above skills as required.
