Health and Safety Advisor - Midlands and Southern England
Our client is one of Europe's fastest growing environmental, geotechnical and contaminated land consultancies, with offices in the UK, Europe and the Gulf.
They are now looking to recruit a Health and Safety Advisor to work full time within their Contracting Division based in either the Midlands or Southern England. Currently, they are operating remote working for many of our office-based employees and this is expected to evolve into a blended working arrangement when restrictions enable this.
Responsibilities:
Providing advice on a range of HSE issues
Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented
Ensure working practices are safe and comply with legislation
Lead in-house training on a range of health and safety topics
Providing health and safety advice to the Contracting Division leadership team
Working with several diverse business units within the Group to support with H&S
Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements
Record incidents and accidents and produce statistics for managers
Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry
Produce reports, newsletters, and bulletins
Advise on a range of specialist areas e.g., fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases.
Assist in the provision and continued delivery of solutions to achieve assurance in the company's work, together with attainment of best practice in health and safety management
Deliver safety stand down days to employees
Support with wellbeing and mental health issues
Person specification:
Previous experience within a health and safety role - Ideally 5 years' experience
Knowledge of current legislation
The ideal candidate will be NEBOSH qualified
Desirable experience within the Construction, Civil Engineering and/or Remediation sectors.
Full UK Driving License
The successful candidate will have a willingness to travel across the UK
Salary and benefits:
£35,000 - £42,000
