A long-established and well respected architectural firm seek a capable Health & Safety / CDM Manager to support the Principal Designer and Project Services team in delivering projects across the housing sector.
With the recent appointment of a dedicated Principal Designer, the firm is now in a position to require the support of another exceptional Health & Safety professional.
The role would suit a current health and safety advisor who is open to a unique challenge or perhaps a design, engineering or construction professional seeking an opportunity in health and safety.
The successful candidate will assist with the delivery of health and safety services including;
- the performance of CDM2015 duties
- co-ordinating safety focussed meetings
- providing advice and guidance on technical and management solutions
- reviewing risk information
- writing practical safety reports
- compiling pre-construction information
- compiling health and safety files
- site inspections
- safety audits
- delivery of safety training
Although client facing, the role will predominantly be working with architects, structural and civil engineers on practical and functional aspects of safety regulations applicable to the built environment.
The successful candidate will have effective written and oral communication skills and a keen eye for detail. A reasoned methodical approach to problem-solving and the moral confidence to challenge where appropriate is essential. The ability to influence and to convey a point of view that is empathetic and understanding of the client's perspective is also vital to the role.
You must have a working knowledge of the following legislation and regulations:
- The Health and Safety at Work Act
- Fire Safety Order
- Asbestos Regulations
- Work At Height
- Electricity at Work
- Risk Assessments
As a minimum, the successful candidate will hold the following qualifications;
- NEBOSH NGC or NEBOSH NCC
Fire Risk Management, BOHS Asbestos Management are desirable qualifications.
You will also have a minimum of Technical or equivalent membership level of a relevant organisation such as IOSH, CIOB or ICE
Based in the firm's central London studio, the role will require working from time to time at a variety of locations including client offices, construction sites, and our other UK studios.
