HydroGeologist

Job description

Allen & York are working on behalf of a specialist within the aggregates industry to bring on board a Hydrogeologist into the existing team. This is a specialist role that will provide advice and support to a team that holds a niche role within the construction and aggregates sector.

You will ideally hold a minimum of 3 years of experience working for either a consultancy group or the EA, and have exposure to the field of groundwater protection across that time. You may come from either a contaminant hydrogeology background, or a water availability background, both will form an excellent basis for this role.

The role would form part of the wider Environment and Technical team, reporting to the Environmental Manager. The projects and workload would be across the UK, however site work is not a daily part of this role.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the production of supply site risk assessment and must be adequately trained in the interpretation of hydrogeological data from their previous work history. You will maintain the SSRA and associated data supporting the decision to supply.

The company already has regular contact with the EA on a number of levels and helps to steer policy associated with the sites they support. This work is an essential part of demonstrating End of Waste for the products they supply, and the successful candidate needs to be dedicated, diligent and strong minded to protect both groundwater and maintain the company's excellent reputation.

The salary on offer will be set by the successful candidate's silks and experience, but will reflect the key role this position plays in the company's work. A company car and medical insurance is on offer after the probationary period.

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate from a wider Hydrogeology background to become a true sector shaping specialist in this area. The role is available immediately and we will appraise and progress applications as soon as they are received. Contact Tom Herbert at Allen & York for more information - therbert@allen-york.com
