Allen & York has been engaged by one of the UK's leading environmental consultancies to help them secure a Lead Sustainability Consultant for a new role within their growing business.
Sitting in the busy, established Circular Economy and Sustainability business division, you will be an expert in identifying and engaging with sustainability directors and managers in the private sector, working with them to deliver a range of sustainability services on offer. Your ability to spot opportunities which will raise the profile of the Team and the services on offer is also important. As a result, you will most likely be working in a consultancy environment, possibly with some in house experience, you'll be well networked in the sustainability space, regularly attending events and conferences and if this is in the private sector, fantastic, as this is a particular focus for this role. What's really critical about this role is the ability to hold strategic conversations at a senior level; to develop business models and take the clients on their sustainability journey.
This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for the right person to really help to drive the business unit forward, building on an already successful delivery Team by becoming a leader in the Team and playing an active role in driving the services, listening to what clients are saying and developing bespoke solutions tailored to them. You'll most likely be operating at the Senior/Principal level already but may be disillusioned in your current role/company and not have the opportunity to break through that glass ceiling.
You'll have an engineering/scientific academic background coupled with knowledge and experience of sustainability strategies, reporting (sustainability and integrated), SDG's, ESG, life cycle assessments and as you can imagine, you'll have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, a good emotional intelligence and excellent analytical skills.
Based in one of three locations (SE, Midlands or NW), you will travel to meet clients as and when is required, both in the UK, Europe and worldwide and work as part of a close knit Team of sustainability and circular economy experts. Regardless of what office you're based in, you'll work in open plan offices, which fosters a collaborative environment, where ideas can be shared amongst innovative and passionate colleagues. In return, you'll be rewarded with a competitive salary and package including a bonus and a bespoke training and development plan.
