Job title | Operations Technician |
Department and location: | Operations Blackburn area |
Reporting to: | Area Manager |
Salary range: | £ 30,000 to £33,000 |
Main purposes of job |
Under the supervision of the Area Manager, to complete the day to day operations of gas field and generators at the assigned sites in order to achieve maximum electrical output. |
Key tasks |
- Assist with planned preventative and breakdown maintenance of the generator sets and all other associated plant and equipment
- Backup and call out assistance to Operations Technicians at other sites
- Complete accurate and concise record keeping of Operations & Maintenance
- Ensure required gas field readings are made and issued on time to relevant personnel
- Assist in implementing and supervising Health & Safety and Quality procedures at assigned
sites - Assist in the ordering of consumable parts items, including lube oils, filters, spark plugs fan belts, etc
- Maintaining adequate spare parts stock on assigned sites
- Carry out routine stock takes of parts holding on site
- Ensure that safe working practises and procedures are adhered to within all areas of work

Skills, knowledge and experience (desirable) |
Qualified to BTEC level, preferred in a mechanical discipline |
Knowledge in respect of generation using reciprocating engines |
SHE qualification, i.e. NEBOSH, IOSH |
Proven track record of excellent verbal and written communication skills |
Competent level of IT Skills |
