Allen & York are working closely with a organisation within the marine sector, based in Hampshire. They are seeking to appoint an Industry Partnership Manager on a full-time and permanent basis based on site. This is a new role within the team Strategic team, reporting to the Director. The Industry Partnership Manager role will involve developing strategic partnerships for the organisation within their industry. You will be responsible for researching the market within the areas of marine and oceanography in order to maximise income growth and diversify revenue streams for the organisation. You will do this via various platforms including networking at relevant events, conferences and building strong working relationships with funding agencies, researchers and private sector leads. You must have strong project and relationship management experience.
The role of Industry Partnership Manager is very much both an internal and external net-worker position, where you will be responsible for collaboration across the business, sharing knowledge and facilitating income and business generation for the organisation. As the Industry Partnership Manager, you will be developing opportunities within the organisation via various avenues including: bid writing, assisting academics in putting together business cases. There will be relevant sector events and conferences which you will be involved in therefore, strong communication and relationship building skills are important. The Industry Partnership Manager must understand various forms of funding mechanisms within the public sector and manage a number of projects at any given time.
As you will be working closely with researchers and academics, it is important to understand their language therefore, it is important to have a background in marine science / maritime. The Strategic team is made up of business development and event management professionals.
- Degree qualified, ideally within the relevant sectors of marine science/maritime
- Previous experience working with academics
- Understanding of funding
- Project management
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience writing bids
