An interesting opportunity has recently become available for a Controls Engineer to join a successful Pharmaceuticals company in the Hertfordshire area, the role will be offered by a leading FM service provider. The successful candidate will provide a cost-effective service to maintain service, operate, improve and control existing plant in a safe and compliant manner on a day shift basis. Ensure the supply of utilities to assist the development divisions to secure the Company's objective.
Role Summary:
- Identification of development needs and continuous improvement to meet requirements of the role
- Utilization of current Appraisal & performance management system.
- Engagement with communication tools used for dissemination of relevant site information (e.g. safety talks, tool box talks, PDRs)
- Implementation and use of current and emerging IT platforms for Compliance, Safety and Operation of all plant
- Report accidents and Near Misses using established site systems
- Undertake calibration and maintenance tasks in line with current SOP requirements
- Utilisation of Beamex system to assist in site critical device maintenance
- Generation and maintenance of device master lists
- Respond to and report on daily Stability room deviations
- Fault diagnosis and rectification to device level on plant and equipment
- Compilation and escalation of reports and plant data to Team Leader
- Generate and maintain site critical alarm database
- Proactive management of work orders incorporating BDM/Planning/OWA/6 week look ahead against agreed benchmarks (KPI's/TLR etc.), and a full review of PPM for suitability.
- Proactive Management of EH&S
- Generation and resolution of OOR's / CAPA's. and Audit findings as required
- Ensure high level of housekeeping in areas of responsibility
- Utilization of General Permit to Works (GPTW)
- Attendance at Safety meetings when required
- Generation of Internal Purchase Orders
- Assist with Third Party Management duties appertaining to reference instrument calibration
- Management of finance in the following areas
- Completion of Overtime request forms in a timely manner and subsequent timesheet submission
- Materials/consumables requisitions after first obtaining quotes for approval
- Cost avoidance and Cross charging
- Change Management
- Promote flexibility and agility within team
- Cross area and cross site support where required to meet specific task requirements
- Generation of skill GAP Analysis and promotion of operational solutions
- Self-audits and corrective actions from external audits
- Reviewing and recommendations for modification of SOP's and work orders
- Working in liaison with all central support functions
- Attend meetings with customers and end users as and when required
- Lead the generation and submission of continuous improvement ideas
Experience Required:
- PLC experience - ideally Allen Bradley or Siemens
- Pharma/Food/Manufacturing experience
- Previous experience in building services engineering
- HNC/HND or equivalent qualification
