Principal Development Planner - Basingstoke

Are you a Principal Engineer / Transport Planner?

Are you looking to join a Development Planning team based in Basingstoke?

As Principal Development Planner you will work within the Development team, working with private and public sector clients, architects, planners and other property professionals across all sectors throughout the development life cycle; providing services from site feasibility through to completion.

In this role you will be responsible for undertaking Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, supporting your Environmental colleagues in preparing Environmental Impact Assessments, and provide key transport inputs to the development of Travel Demand Management Strategies, Preliminary and Detailed Designs and Spatial and Master Planning.

As the ideal candidate you will be able to demonstrate a proven background in development related transport analysis and assessment, with wider experience in project management and supervisory skills. It is expected that you will have excellent written and oral communication skills which you will continue to develop, as well as experience in client fronting and negotiation with highway authorities.

You currently hold a BSc degree in a numerate subject or an MSc in transport Planning or related subject with substantial post-qualification experience. As well as holding chartered membership of either CIHT, TPS, CILT or ICE or be currently working towards chartered status of one of these bodies.

Ideally you will have gained this experience in transport modelling from a consultancy or local authority setting, while having a working knowledge and understanding in the usage of at least two or more of the following software packages; SATURN, Emme, VISUM, Cube.

Drawing on your ability to handle the project management of smaller projects, including proposals, cost control and client liaison will be second nature to you.
