Joining as a principal / Associate Director Highways Engineer you will lead a highly motivated and busy highway and drainage engineering team, handling client's demands on linear infrastructure projects across the UK. Initially you will be based from home until Covid-19 conditions permit a return to the office in Yate, Bristol.
As a highly knowledgeable Highways Engineer you will be working across a diverse project list. You will be comfortable contributing to major scale projects to UK standards and due to your high level of experience, you are likely to be tasked with sole management of projects as the workload allows.
Ideally you will hold a Degree in Civil engineering or equivalent qualification, hold a MICE/MIHE Chartership or are currently working towards a Chartered professional qualification.
Drawing on circa 10 years of experience in a similar role, you will demonstrate a good working knowledge and experience in negotiating S278, S38 and S106 agreements, along with your ability to use AutoCAD, Civils 3D, Micro Drainage, Auto Track, Key Sign in the preparation of detail design drawings and specifications. Any design experience in the use of DMRB will be beneficial to you in this role.
As Principal/Associate Director Highway Engineer; project management, liaising with clients and local authorities while maintaining established client relationships and building and expanding the work and client base as well as managing the team of 5 engineers and technicians will come naturally to you.
You will lead the team in the preparation of detailed design and drainage drawings and specifications. You will also be responsible for the preparation of budget cost estimates.
You will be expected in this role to report directly to the Directors on technical and project cost information.
Due to the nature of site locations a full driving licence will be required as will the need for flexible working with regard to type of work, timing and location.
