Principal Planning Policy Officer - Norwich

As a Principal Town Planner, you will have the opportunity to work for a rapidly growing business that delivers comprehensive services for major public sector projects. You will be providing support and advice to the development management team, on strategically important planning applications, enforcement and appeals while providing timely, comprehensive and accurate reports and recommendations on planning policy issues. You will be base in the Norwich office on a full-time basis with site visits to be carried out as and when required.
As a Chartered Member of the RTPI, you will hold a RTPI accredited Honours Degree and/or Diploma or Masters Qualification, you will use this experience to attend and present at Council Committees, along with providing professional advice on planning matters to clients, the public, Members of the Council, and other public sector officials as necessary, you will keep up to date with current legislation and policy changes, including CPD requirements. Thus, allowing you to assist with business development for planning policy commissions and meeting agreed targets for general consultancy work.
Drawing on your 5 years plus of post-chartered experience, including private and/or public sector experience you will have a proven track record of leading in the delivery of Local Plan documents. As well as having the ability to use your own initiative to shape the strategic direction of the plan and sufficient knowledge and understanding of the full range of technical matters involved in the process e.g. housing, environment, infrastructure etc.
You will be well placed to support, assist and mentor junior members of the team to develop and increase their skill set while furthering their knowledge of the planning sector. Demonstrating your natural leadership skills as well as an innate ability to manage, delegate and prioritise tasks will be second nature to you.
