Allen & York are excited to be partnering with a dynamic African property development company who work on a range of sustainable projects within the real estate sector, industrial parks, low carbon utilities and other land assets including agriculture. Operating across Sub Saharan Africa, they are now looking for someone to join their small but established Team to lead projects and help the business flourish, securing and nurturing these projects whilst ensuring they align with the SDG's and other sustainable frameworks and directives.

As a senior member of the Team, you'll be responsible for leading on the commercial engagements and negotiations for projects, assessing their viability and compiling financial models, then managing a number of projects simultaneously, looking at resource requirements and budgets, engaging with numerous stakeholders, often C-suite, providing strategic advice, utilising your expertise to help grow the business further by identifying opportunities and expanding your network in the sector and then helping to support more junior team members to encourage them to grow in similar areas.

Based in their London office, you will be expected to travel to Africa for 2-3 weeks once every 2-3 months so a willingness and capability to do this is required (you'll plan your time to make each trip worthwhile and cost efficient).

Given the type of experience required and projects you will be working on, you will most likely come from a management consultancy, investment bank or private equity company and ideally have relevant industry experience with experience in Africa. Moreover, you'll have a relevant Master's degree or equivalent, experience of (or familiarity with) commercial law, strategy consulting, excellent project management and project finance, as well as some flair, intuition and a passion for sustainable development.
