Project Risk Manager- Offshore Wind

Frimley OR Manchester

Our client is one of the largest Wind Power companies in the world. They are seeking to appoint a Project Risk Manager for their Project Management department within their offshore wind division. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling the identification, analysis and mitigation of risks within offshore wind.


• Facilitate risk identification with adequate methods, by ensuring availability of a risk register and risk descriptions and by developing a risk awareness culture in the WP OF organization
• Support number of projects in one region by contributing risk knowledge across projects and transferring risk knowledge from sales to execution phase
• Ensure proper action on identified risks, including prioritization of risks, quantifying risks, delegation of ownership, execution of structural assessments, communication of risk situation towards project teams as well as regular reporting on risks and mitigation status to the management team
• Develop and improve the risk identification process by analysing risk patterns, implementing new measures for project and portfolio risk management, ensuring proper training to relevant parties and participating in the global Wind Power risk management community
• Ensure timely and high-quality project preparation for Project SteeCo, supporting with consolidating the SteeCo material
• Act as risk manager towards clients for projects where this role is defined within the contract


• Experienced in dealing with the major project attributes (cost, time and quality)
• Proven experiences in a project driven business, e.g. as project core team member or equivalent
• Experiences with risk management in a larger project driven corporation
• Hands on mentality with a proactive mind-set to ensure adherence to budget, time schedule and specified quality within project lifecycle
• Knowledge in Primavera & SAP is an advantage
• You possess an appropriate domain knowhow (industry & technology) and are able to act as consultant and facilitator in complex situation
• You can demonstrate excellent English skills, orally and in writing as well as profound networking and communication skills across organisational levels and cultures
