You will be working on some of the UK's most high profile Transport Planning and infrastructure projects which are at the forefront of the Transport Planning industry and work with the likes of the Department of Transport, Transport for London, Highways England as well as a host of local authorities and London boroughs within England, as well as work on several key Frameworks. While working with a team that has proactively managed some of the UK's most high profile Transport Planning and infrastructure projects which are at the forefront of the Transport Planning industry. These span innovative use and application of mobile phone data through to close partnership working and research with Universities and academia.

As Regional Director / Project Director, you will be joining a Highway and Multi Modal Planning team within the Transport Planning Business to help win and deliver projects as well as supporting the growth of the Transport Planning team in the South East of England, with a main focus on Highways and Multimodal Planning and modelling. The key parts of the Transport Planning work within Highways and Multi Modal planning currently includes strategic transport modelling and micro-simulation modelling in support of scheme assessments and preparation of business cases and funding applications. This is a full time permanent role working from the St Albans, Hertfordshire office which is a central hub for the businesses Transport and Development Planning teams.

Drawing on your analytical background and your demonstrable experience in managing teams and developing them to meet their potential along with your experience of successfully delivering technically challenging transport planning projects, ideally these will be Highway and Multi-modal projects in conjunction with at least 8 or more years' experience in transport planning and a good knowledge of wider transport planning issues, You will essentially be leading a team of transport planners in winning and delivery of transport planning, modelling and appraisal commissions.

You will manage and develop the team in the South East that already benefits from a large number of significant frameworks, including contracts with a number of local authorities, Transport for London, Highways England and Department for Transport, as its main route to market which provides an excellent basis for securing further work and supporting the growth of the wider transport planning team.

Your sound knowledge of the UK transport planning market and client base, proven track record of leading technical teams in delivering significant transport planning and modelling projects and extensive experience of writing and reviewing proposals, in conjunction with your knowledge of UK methods and procedures such as business case development, scheme appraisal and webtag are going to be a pre-requisite for the role. In addition, the critical attribute for the role is the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients across a wide spectrum of disciplines throughout the UK and Internationally to secure and deliver transport planning projects.

You will hold a Master's degree or PhD in Transport Planning, or related subject/social based discipline, and hold membership of a chartered professional institution such as CIHT, TPS, CILT, TPP or ICE, or be working towards membership.

The experience you have gained throughout your career will demonstrate your strong analytical and communication skills, along with a creative and enthusiastic approach to problem solving.

Project management, working with and coordinating with other business departments on various multi-disciplinary projects while supervising the workload will be second nature to you.

Your understanding and experience in transport demand and supply modelling, forecasting, and experience you have gained in appraisal and evaluation of transport proposals, will compliment your knowledge of transport modelling related software packages e.g. SATURN, PARAMICS, CUBE, EMME, VISUM, VISSIM, TUBA as well as your understanding and experience of GIS software.

Previous experience of project budgetary issues and the capability to deliver work to time and budget requirements, as well as the ability to communicate technical concepts and provide a level of supervision to more junior staff will shine through from your vast background in the Transport Planning sector.

As a Regional Transport Planning Project Director you will be required to be flexible to travel to other offices within the business, depending on project requirements.
