Job description
This is a contract opportunity is for a Safety Engineer to work with a prominent organisation in London with experience in the rail sector.
The role is working on a specific research project and will be for approximately 5 months working closely with the project team to achieve the set goals for hazard identification across the sector.
The role will collate and review current systems and practices with a view to identification of improvements as well as potential integration into wider applications. There will then be a definition and development function to the role with reporting to the project steering group at conclusion.
Candidates will require experience working within the rail sector and familiarisation of project working to timescales. There is a strong research element to this role and there will be a requirement of practical experience of applying (or reviewing) hazard identification and safety assessment techniques e.g. HAZOP, FMECA, FTA, bowties.
Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards e.g., CSMs and EN 50126/8/9 will be advantageous, but key will be the ability to write high quality reports, guidance and tools to inform stakeholder activity.
The role falls outside IR35 and it would be advantageous for candidates to have their own Ltd company but not essential.
