Location: Remote - South of England (Bristol, Oxford, Buckinghamshire preferred)
Package: Competitive salary + bonus + benefits
A rapidly growing, market-leading organisation in the environmental sector is seeking a Senior Land Manager to support the expansion of its habitat delivery portfolio across the South of England. The business operates at the forefront of biodiversity net gain (BNG) and large-scale habitat creation, working with landowners, developers, and local authorities to deliver meaningful ecological impact.
With significant investment and an expanding pipeline of projects, this is an opportunity to join a high-performing, purpose-driven team during a critical phase of growth.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Land (South), you will take a lead role in identifying, securing, and delivering land opportunities for habitat creation. You'll be responsible for building strong relationships with landowners and agents, progressing opportunities through appraisal and negotiation, and ensuring successful onboarding of sites.
This is a commercially focused role with real influence, combining land acquisition, stakeholder engagement, and strategic input into regional growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and secure land opportunities suitable for habitat creation schemes
  • Build and maintain relationships with landowners, agents, and key external stakeholders
  • Lead negotiations and agree commercial terms for land agreements
  • Undertake site assessments and coordinate due diligence with internal specialists (ecology, legal, planning, finance)
  • Manage the planning and consenting process for new sites
  • Support and mentor junior team members within the regional land function
  • Work closely with internal teams to prioritise opportunities aligned with market demand
  • Represent the business at industry and landowner engagement events

About You

  • Professionally qualified (MRICS, CAAV or equivalent)
  • Strong experience working with rural landowners and farmers
  • Solid understanding of rural land management, tenancies, and environmental schemes
  • Commercially astute with experience negotiating land deals
  • Confident communicator, able to engage a wide range of stakeholders
  • Highly organised and self-sufficient, comfortable managing a regional remit
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel

What's on Offer

  • Performance-related bonus (up to 10%)
  • Employer-matched pension (up to 6%)
  • 30 days' annual leave + bank holidays + additional wellbeing days
  • Option to purchase extra leave
  • Flexible / remote working
  • Private healthcare cash plan
  • Enhanced wellbeing and support initiatives
  • Ongoing professional development and career progression
