Senior Planning Policy Officer - Norwich

As a Senior Planning Officer, you will have the opportunity to work for a rapidly growing business that delivers comprehensive services for major public sector projects. You will report to the Planning Policy Manager working on the delivery of an effective, high quality, efficient, customer centric planning policy.

You will assist in any subsequent review of the Local Plan including the formulation of planning policies, these will including site allocations and Development Management policies, through the initiation and commissioning of evidence base documents, preparing preferred options, consultation and engagement with local communities. You will be base in the Norwich office on a full-time basis with site visits to be carried out as and when required.

As a Chartered Member of the RTPI, you will hold a RTPI accredited Honours Degree and/or Diploma or Masters Qualification, you will use this experience to attend and present at Council Committees, along with providing professional advice on planning matters to clients, the public, Members of the Council, and other public sector officials as necessary, you will keep up to date with current legislation and policy changes, including CPD requirements. Thus, allowing you to assist with business development for planning policy commissions and meeting agreed targets for general consultancy work.

Drawing on your 5 years plus of post-chartered experience, including private and/or public sector experience you will have a proven track record of leading in the delivery of Local Plan documents. As well as having the ability to use your own initiative to shape the strategic direction of the plan and sufficient knowledge and understanding of the full range of technical matters involved in the process e.g. housing, environment, infrastructure etc.
