Senior Sales Manager - Air Quality

An exciting opportunity to enhance the expanding company with the appointment of a UK based Senior Sales Manager for the Air and Emissions Division of the business.
This division has seen significant growth within the UK market and through export via master distribution opportunities. My clients market offering is expanding and includes an increasing range of products and services for continuous emissions monitoring, continuous ambient monitoring and environmental data acquisition systems.

The ideal candidate will be ambitious with a proven track record within the air and emissions monitoring sector. The successful individual will require a strategic vision aligned with the growth of both the business division and company as a whole.

The Role

Reporting to the Business Development Director, the successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the strategic planning and delivery of revenue against business plan targets. The Sales Manager will be proactive, ambitious and enthusiastic in successfully managing a sales unit including key accounts, generating proactive sales opportunities, appointments and handling enquiries using effective and proven sales techniques. The ability to quickly familiarise yourself with a wide range of new products, instrumentation and applications is essential. You will be able to effectively track and report activities and manage contact information for sales prospects and existing clients. This position is based in the UK but applicants are required to be flexible as out of hours work and international travel are part of the role.

  • Effective management of a sales unit to deliver against revenue and gross margin targets
  • Ability to manage and motivate others
  • Proven key account and distributor management skills
  • Effective sales techniques to proactively generate sales leads and appointments within the UK and internationally
  • Identifying decision makers who could benefit from products (instrumentation solutions) and services
  • Articulating technology, product features and benefits to business and technical users
  • Interpreting customer requirements
  • Providing compelling sales propositions to customers
  • Preparing informal updates and formal reports for management
  • Recording and maintaining client contact data
  • Conducting technical presentations and demonstrating how a product or solution will meet client needs
  • Liaison with other members of the Business Development team, Finance and Admin Team, Technical team, and Operations

  • Proven track record within the air and emissions monitoring sector
  • Proven sales unit manager
  • Ability and desire to sell and provide client satisfaction

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Enthusiastic, confident and determined proactive approach
  • High degree of self-motivation and drive
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with clients
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The capacity to flourish in a competitive environment
  • Degree or similar qualification in a relevant subject is preferable but not essential
  • A full, clean UK driving licence
