Senior / Principal Heritage Consultant
A leading multi-disciplinary consultancy are looking to recruit a skilled and experienced Senior or Principal Heritage Consultant to join their established, friendly, Built Heritage team based in their London office.
You will be working on built Heritage and you will provide high quality heritage advice and support to private and public sector clients.
This is a diverse and varied role, you will prepare applications for listed buildings consent and heritage related appraisals of land, buildings, townscape and concepts.
You will undertake requisite research and analysis to support appraisals, as well as prepare significance assessments and heritage impact assessments.
You will liaise, negotiate and develop relationships with planning officers, organisations, third parties and fellow professionals.
You will prepare and present at internal and external meetings, assist in drawing up and negotiating competitive proposals and provide evidence in support of heritage related planning appraisals.
You will demonstrate excellent awareness of market conditions, government policies and contribute to the preparation of design and access statements, development briefs, management plans, sustainability statements, and other planning supporting documents.
You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in historic building conservation or a heritage related qualification.
You should ideally have post qualification experience. As a member of the IHBC (Institute of Historic Building Conservation) you will have detailed knowledge of the British Town Planning system and a thorough knowledge of heritage subject matter and the application of policy.
You will be IT literate with experience of Adobe Creative Suite, to include Photoshop and Indesign.
You will have excellent written and communications skills, as well as the ability to thrive under pressure and to work to tight deadlines.
