Senior Town Planner - (Renewable Energy)

As Senior Planner you will support the Head of Planning to deliver planning activities for the company's renewable energy projects which include, solar, storage, heat networks and waste to energy solutions.
It is expected that you will be able to complete site feasibility works, manage planning requirements for live projects including planning applications, consenting, public consultation, along with clients and regulatory bodies.
You will have a consultancy background and have built up a strong client base covering a diverse range of projects across the whole of the UK. While taking a broad area of responsibility for all aspects of the planning and development process including planning policy and appraisal work, land promotion, provision of planning consultancy services along with detailed development management and delivery.
As a Senior Planner you will be joining a team that prides itself on their solid client relationships, which have been developed through a very personal approach. Ideally you will be a Chartered Member of the RTPI, you will hold an RTPI accredited Honours Degree and/or Diploma or master's Qualification, you will use this experience to successfully undertake early desktop feasibility assessments of potential projects identified using the in-house GIS system, while undertaking detailed site assessments to establish renewable development potential to include site inspections, detailed examination of planning histories, policy analysis and interpretation and consideration of material considerations.
It is expected you will liaise with team members and wider professionals involved in the planning process, such as lawyers and engineers. While keeping abreast of legislation changes, regulations and government guidance, and ensuring smooth input into the business planning process where appropriate. You will where necessary, provide planning advice in respect of other areas of the business (waste, heat and wider energy developments).
