This is your chance to work as part of a specialist Urban Space team that's part of the Transport Panning business base, in either St Albans or London. You will be given the opportunity to join an accomplished team and work on a range of transport modelling projects, including urban micro-simulation projects for a wide variety of clients that plan, design, integrate, test, commission, project manage and deliver mass transit and mobility solutions across the globe.
As a Senior Transport Planner, you will report to an Associate Director within the team, demonstrating your ability to deliver and win work while providing leadership, mentoring and technical advice to aspiring junior team members.
Your Degree / Masters in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning or other relevant subject along with your experience of traffic and transport modelling and transport planning, will shine through as you plan and evaluate future transport schemes, forecast demand and revenue, develop business cases, undertake economic appraisals / market analysis and look at the relationships between spatial planning and transport.
Thanks to your knowledge of micro-simulation modelling software, such as VISSIM, Legion and Viswalk, accompanied with your familiarity with TfL's, NR and LUL's model development and audit processes, you will be able to undertake transport modelling at a national and regional level right down to detailed micro-simulation where individual roads, public transport systems and crowd movements are analysed.
Some understanding of other transport modelling software, including either SATURN, CUBE, EMME, VISUM or TUBA, will be desirable for this role, although is not essential.
