Senior Transport Planner/ Modeller

This is your chance to work as part of a specialist team base in Manchester, that plan, design, integrate, test, commission, project manage and deliver mass transit and mobility solutions across the UK, in this role you will be offering a range of planning, modelling and appraisal services across all transport modes to local, regional and national government as well as the private sector.
You will be working on transport planning projects that include the development of innovative and evidence-based techniques to process mobile network data to understand multimodal travel demand, using big data and data fusion techniques to fill in gaps in the data and improve accuracy of modelling results, and developing bespoke tools used for visualisation of data or forecasting.
You currently hold a BSc degree in a numerate subject or an MSc in transport Planning or related subject with substantial post-qualification experience. As well as holding chartered membership of either CIHT, TPS, CILT or ICE or be currently working towards chartered status of one of these bodies.
Ideally you will have gained this experience in transport modelling from a consultancy or local authority setting, while having a working knowledge and understanding in the usage of at least two or more of the following software packages; SATURN, Emme, VISUM, Cube.
As an experienced Transport Planner/Modeller you will use your knowledge and experience in transport modelling and forecasting along with your strong technical and report writing skills to mentor and supervise junior staff members in particular helping graduates to develop their skills and knowledge base.
Drawing on your ability to handle the project management of smaller projects, including proposals, cost control and client liaison will be second nature to you.
